Collier to Contest Superstock Class in 2012
For his third year in road racing and his second season in a 600cc class former Supermoto champion Joe Collier will contest the National Superstock 600 series in 2012.
Making constant forward progress during 2011 as he impressed in the Triumph Triple Challenge and won races in selected outings at club level Collier has joined the Vancraft Triumph team that will also field Josh Caygill and Jimmy Hill in the forthcoming British Supersport Championship campaign.
Collier’s bike will again be supplied by Chesterfield-based Triumph dealers TriumphWorld, while the Donington le Heath resident who celebrates his 17th birthday in March will receive additional support to help fund his season from some of that company’s fellow members of the AutoWorld Group.
Collier told the Times “I am really pleased to be joining Vancraft Triumph and am looking forward to learning from Josh and Jimmy. “Superstock is a really competitive class and I know it’s not going to be easy.
“I am treating 2012 as a learning year and the only target I am setting myself is to make consistent improvement throughout the year. “I would also like to say a massive thank you to Stephen and Simon Priestnall of the AutoWorld Group for their fantastic support that helps make it possible for me to go racing.”
