Customers
That's you! In the region of 10-12 bikes in total on the trip, enough that you will make plenty of new friends, but not so many that we bring petit French villages to a standstill... Either riding solo or with a pillion, all we ask is that you are ready to have fun!
Destination
Gap, France - departement capital of the 'Hautes-Alpes' and perfectly located for making the most of the French and Italian Alps! We will take a couple of overnight stops to reach this southerly region of France, where we will enjoy 3 days of optional local ride-outs on some of the world's most splendid roads, followed by a couple of days to wind our way home via a different route.
The Route
Travelling in an easy going fashion and with maximum 'smiles per mile' in mind, we will enjoy the capabilities of our machines but, ultimately, this is not a ‘sports trip’. We are more concerned with enjoying every last yard of twisty roads than travelling them at full steam. Our route avoids motorways and other main highways as much as possible, focusing on the smaller, quieter, 'Frencher' roads whilst in our transit stages, and culminating in some of the most famous Cols and Alpine passes once in Gap.
The Highlights
Dropping in on a World War memorial on our southward route; a visit to the remaining portions of Reims-Gueux Road Racing Circuit; mile after mile of stunning roads wrapped around the Cols of the French Alps; day trips from our destination in Gap to places such as Mount Ventoux (famous Tour de France stage)
The Bikes
Which bike you choose to bring is entirely up to you. There is no preference for Triumph riders on this tour, if you haven't already seen the light then we can happily assist in updating your garage for you before the trip or upon your return! More seriously everyone is welcome, we only ask that you can comfortably maintain the national speed limit, have a sensible tank range, and that you can prove the bike is roadworthy, MOTd, taxed and insured for both UK and continental roads. The state of repair of your motorcycle is entirely your responsibility. If you have any requirements to make your bike more tour worthy or need a service or safety check prior to departure, don't hesitate to contact our service department - speak to David on 01246 450 450 ext. 165
The Paperwork
Don't worry, we will make sure this is all taken care of and that everyone on the trip has everything they require. Once you have committed to join us on tour, we will supply an information pack providing you with backup directions, a checklist of paperwork requirements and the like. We will also request that we hold copies of your most important documents for the duration of the trip.
The Gear
Once again don’t despair! We will provide a list of must have gear to make sure that folks are going to have the most fun possible whilst on their travels. If you have any queries or require any clothing or accessories to make your trip safer and more comfortable, see the Triumphworld Shop, drop in to store or call Matt on 01246 261 607.
